So, fellow opponauts. What happens when you price a car at $60-70k new and no one in the market thinks it's worth anywhere near that?

It's funny, the one time I sat in one of these was an "auto show" at the Texas state fair. A friend got in with me and I told him they were essentially attacking the Lexus LS and emulating Lexus' own strategy from the 80s. At this point, a random Texan guy chimes in from the back of the car saying "I own a Lexus LS, and this is not bad".

The "premium" market is a fickle beast.

Properly comfy car mate. 2014 ultimates can be had for ~50k, but they'll be nearer to 30k in a year or two. My colleague has a 2014 ultimate that he bought brand new from dealer, and its one of the best large luxobarges ive ever driven. The only one better right now is the new S class (comfort/luxury) and a8 (performance)

between the complimentary service where they pick up the car from you and leave you a loaner, to the amazing rear seats...and the 10 year warranty, damn man.

Not the same shit at all. Kia and Hyundai used to be bywords for shoddy build quality and unreliability.

They've gotten much better in the past decade but takes time for reputations to fade.

i don't know why i want it. i don't need it. i don't like that it's DCT at all. it would be redundant and silly.

speaking of which i keep seeing more and more people on jalopnik say that the E39 chassis is the best chassis BMW has ever made (well we all know E30 was, so it must be second best)

i know E39 530i cars are super meh but i wonder if they really do drive amazing. a Manuél E39 530i wouldn't be that expensive and would mix good handling with I6 and 4 usable seats. that would make it a good beater. just probably not a $2000 beater.

If depreciation on a car makes you poor, you couldn't afford it to begin with and picked a pretty bad tool to expect to store value in. For buyers of Equuiii in particular, I can't imagine who's flipping them after two years, much less expecting their pricing to be stable...
